The RCAeroTowing.com crew hooked up with Jason Cole, product marketing manager for Hobby Lobby International, Inc. while visiting the Toledo Expo. Jason had the brand new 6 Foot Telemaster Electro V2 and Senior Telemaster Plus ARF kits with him and was kind enough to bring them to our Saturday aerotow seminar for “Show and Tell.”
Many in the aero towing community had their first towing experience with one of the many Telemaster offerings. Mine was in the early 1970’s with a Senior Telemaster constructed from a Hobby Lobby balsa kit. This past year, we had great success introducing new people to the fun of aero towing using the Hobby Lobby Telemaster 40 and the Multiplex Easy Glider Pro.
Our Telemaster 40 was kit built and uses the included flap option. The new 6 Foot Telemaster Electro V2 is very complete and leaves little work before being ready to fly. Unlike the first version of the 6 Foot Telemaster Electro, this new version has the flaps already hinged! This is a big plus for a plane to be used as an aerotow tug.
Jason was very interested in our experience and success using the Telemaster 40 as our tug of choice for beginners. Our Telemaster 40 is glow powered, but many fields now restrict glow and gas engines so having this electric option is of great interest to us. Most of all, we are very anxious to try out the new 6 Foot Telemaster Electro in the roll primary trainer tow plane. We will be doing a kit review here on RCAeroTowing.com very soon, so stay turned for the latest news on this project.
