Towing from a manicured grass field, the surrounding farm fields and rural terrain produces great thermal activity. From the powerful Pegasus, the Pilatus, Cubs to smaller electric tugs, we typically tow anything 8 meters and smaller, but don’t be surprised to see a 10 meter flying! Bring what ya got and let’s go fly! We enjoy dedicated tow pilots to make certain lines and waiting are at a minimum!
JOIN US for the New England Aerotow 2011 set for September 24 & 25!

Electric-powered gliders are also very welcome to fly during the event. We have lots of sky to share. No winch or high-starts.
What’s more, the Connecticut coast area has lots to offer to families and vacationers including beaches, great seafood, the historic town of Mystic and the Mystic Seaport, the ocean beaches of Rhode Island and the 24-7 action at the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casino Resorts. The towns of Norwich, New London, Groton, Flanders, Niantic, Mystic, Lyme and Westerly all offer a range of accommodations. Both casinos are quite close to the field and have extensive hotel operations.
NOTE TO BEGINNERS: If you’ve ever had an interest in aerotow, but have shyed away from attending events like this one, please join us for some hands-on learning. If you own a scale sailplane or are just interested in getting started, we’ll be certain to take the time to help you understand the basics of aerotow, get some quality stick time, and come away from the experience ready to take on future aerotows (or Sunday) with the skills and confidence you’ll need. Just note on your registration “new to aerotow.”
Tow fee: $$20 for two days, $15 for any one day. Hot food and beverages available on field.
