I started flying RC Gliders back in July of 1977 after having crashed my Hanglider and severely breaking my ankle. My hangliding days were over but I still had tons of friends in the sport so I took up RC gliders and got into slope flying to start with. As I acquired more planes I got into TD Flying and hit the contest circuit. I joined LSF and have made up to the Level IV and am currently working on Level V which may never come as I am not as active at contest flying as I used to be. I have just recently started flying Scale Gliders and am thinking this is where my interests are heading mostly for now. There is just something special about it I can't quite put my finger on but it sure is addicting. I currently own a HF-Model 5M ASG29, a Phoenix Models 6M K8B and will be taking delivery of a 5M Orlik II kit from iflytailies for a winter project. I have been the event director going on three years for our Mickey Sullivan Memorial Aerotow held at Clearview Field SW of Wichita KS each year in late August.
