Hey Mannie,
Any time.

I have my own 60 watt CO2 laser (~18.8"
X ~24.5" cutting area). I've been open to cutting parts for folks on occasion.
Brian
Hey Duane,
Thanks! I've had a little time off of work so I thought I'd get some work done. I definitely hope it flies well!
Brian
Well I've got some pics showing the bottom wing skins. Definitely lots of balsa...and I love splicing it all together. ;)
Brian
Well I managed to get back out in the shop today despite the horribly hot temperature. I thought I throw in a couple of pictures of the sheer webs drying.
Cheers!

Just been busy--no flying for me lately!
Duane,
Bigger non-scale wheels should also help with prop clearance.

Lets see...
I vote for the servos in the horizontal stab.
And I have to agree with Mike...the carbon will do a better job on the outside of the spars. He is also right...you are a building...
Just get to it! It's really not that bad. If you want daunting then you should try designing and scratch building a few Horten flying wings.
Brian
Here's a picture of the plane with both wing panels attached. I still have lots of work to do but it's starting to look like an airplane. :)
Brian
p.s. just ignore the messy shop!
I've actually built a few Hortens. Here are some the links:

Using the alignment shims has worked out okay so far though I'm only really going to know how it worked when the wings are fully sheeted. I definitely agree with you on the tabs--that's the way I've...
Well I did manage to get some work done on the TP over the last few days. I glued some ribs together use 3/32" balsa and 1/64" birch ply. I also manage to cut the spars out on the table saw and...
Hey Guys,
I'm going to stay out of the gas motor/big horsepower discussion since I realistically have no place to fly anything but electric (Hacker A60-18L) version of the plane.
@Daniel - I...
Hey Duane,
I didn't know about the build thread over on flying giants. Thanks!
I like the parts!! Especially the tail wheel. I'm not looking to go perfectly scale...I just want something...

Hey Mike,
I knew there was something wrong with my lottery logic!
I wouldn't call it a plan but I should have the Porter done in time for the Fall aerotow. Time will tell!
Brian
Sure! I'd like to go with a real turbo prop however I haven't won the lottery yet.
Brian
Well I managed to get a bit more work done on the fuselage. The first three pictures show the landing gear temporarily attached. The springs seem a bit soft at this point. Well see...
The last...
Some of the things were definitely MODEL airplane related. I also had to work to make money to spend on model airplanes. Hmmm...I guess that a lot of the things I do are somehow relate to model...
Hey Randy,
What motor are you planning to use? Yes, they do go together pretty fast...I've just been busy doing other things. :-(
Brian
Hey Bob,
I used the 140mm wheels and I like them so far.
Brian
The is not a bit more skin on the fuselage. It's taking most of the weights I have to hold down the skins while the glue is drying. I also decided to through in a picture of the PC-6 fuselage next...
