Did some more work n the Wilga over the past couple of days having fitted my new sexy exhaust headers from KS, a very long wait but worth it.

I had a small problem with the hatch cover for the wilga during setup.....it broke!

Apparently the covers are only servo covers and are not mounting covers! DOH!!

My new servo covers are made from 2mm G10 glass board. Makes wicked control horns etc too!!

Fingers crossed Test fly in 2 weeks

Hi all well I've been able to get a little more done in the past couple of days and I'm almost ready for my first engine run. The carb has now had a full overhaul with new diaframs on both sides of the pump and the needles have been cleaned so fingers crossed she fires up strait away. In regard to the cowl I found it easier to split the bottom of the cowl to slip over the plug caps, down the track I'll be fitting a radial so this won't be an issue.

I thought you cleaned that shop?
Vintage wood is the BEST! But....every now and then a plastic missile can be quite enjoyable!

    only the floor.....

I ran the king 140 up today, definately had potential despite a faulty plug when both were running she pulls like a premium h..... And I still havnt tuned the motor yet...... So tomorrow I'll change the plugs for new ones and try again.
Not bad for a 10 year old motor that has been sitting dry for that time.

Hi guys well as you would have noticed I havn't updated for a while, so it turns out my king 140 has a flogged out keyway in the drivedog meaning that the timing is changing.... and not having any luck getting reliable replies from King engines in German I decided I would substitute the king for another motor...... Well as fate would have it a guy in Western Australia was looking for a 100 cc twin for his 33% Pawnee and just so happened to have a DA150 that needed a home and a straight swap was had.... one very nice DA 150 arived at my door a few days later.
Anyhow while waiting on some headers for my 46% Pawnee I got all inspired the other day and set about making a new engine mount form 2x laminations of 4mm ply with 6K carbon cloth sandwiched in the middle and on both faces. once offered up all looked good till I went to fit the cowl.... Blast 20mm of DA 150 too much hanging out the front. Solution cut out the firewall and put a new one behind the original.

Enter the next problem and a very scarey one at that..... Next to no glue holding in the firewall.... WHOW!! now thats scarey!
So glad I cut the lot out the plan now is to make up a ply spacer ring and a new 12mm ply firewall with carbon laminate and then remount the motor 20mm furthur inside the cowl line and finish the fitout once and for all.....

    SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR FIREWALS!!
