Been there done that.......and the failure of that was one of the catalysts for this forum here.
Good luck but I predict that it will turn out the same as last time.
Not trying to be negative .......just realistic.

Jim has made it too hard to create a new forum, He's put in place way too many guidelines that people dont know about unless you navigate several times through RCG to get things done.
It's rediculously hard and people arent going to take the time to follow thier rules. The thread I started has over 1000 views but the rules are just too hard to get it done.

Oh well, they're only hurting themselves by not making it a more intresting place.

And that was the same conclusion that we came to back then.......which is why we are here talking about it!

    Duane,

At the risk of being repetitive, let me share with you some of our experiences.
RcGroups is an excellent website, and obviously very successful. It was the site I used every day when I was getting started in scale sailplanes. I was able to make some contacts and eventually get the information I was looking for, but I did say eventually. It took hours and hours of searching through countless posts and useless babble to get the little nugget of information I was looking for.
I often said to myself, there must be somewhere I could find this info easier, or at least a place that concentrates on sailplanes.

THEN, Charlie, (from SKSS) Asked to have a tug forum, he went through the same crap you are going through, with the same results. RCG is interested in the MASS, not the few. That's when it was decided to to form this site.
Scale soaring and aerotowing is in it infancy, it has grown triple in the last few years and continues to grow every month. We started this site to collect all the info someone would need in one place. To encourage people to talk back and forth, help get someone else started and provide a safeguard for articles and reviews for years to come.
What we do need is people. This site is not a business, its a labor of love. The thousands and thousands of dollars put into this site is done to help grow our little section of the sport.
If we all bring one or two guys over and introduce then to aerotowing, things will start cooking at a rapid pace.
We could not be happier with the impact this site has had on Scale sailplanes all around the world. All the guys who work so hard behind the scenes do it because they want to help. Without them, it would NOT happen.

    My 2 cents.
    LEN
It's not complicated, bigger is better.
