    AFLLS, sounds like "apples".
...especially if you have too many 'adult beverages'! Think I'll have a Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout! Nice trailer build, BTW!

    Hatch Hinge

When I built the hatch, I forgot about the gap on the hurricane hinge

This necessitated a trip to the table saw to accommodate said gap. Needless to say, it was a little wild keeping the hatch position properly on the table, especially toward the end of the two cuts.

I Attached the hinge with #10 1.5" wood screws (stainless steel)

Once I got the hatch on I could round the rear sides and do some matching with epoxy/lightweight filler.

Now on to the installation of the T-Handle locking mechanism.

    Hatch latch and tail lights

More play'n with the teardrop, on the list for today was the hatch latch mechanism mount and brake/turn signal lights
Obtained the latch T-handle, rods and rod actuation mechanism from http://www.lilbear.teardrops.net/index.html ebay store.
The fun was trying to figure out a way to use the rod mechanism and keep it inside the hatch. Finaly went for the reverse/forward mount as shown below.
It was alittle thick for the mounting wings so a trip to the belt sander for an "adjustment" was inorder. The mounting plate is mounted to the hatch via 10-32 flat head screws.

Cutting out the the tail lights is all was "fun" ( is this really where I want to put them )

After that I made the cutout for the T-handle and checked on the positioning of the license plate.

Hey Scott, I really like the way that trailer is coming out. Out of all the threads going on the site, I love to see whats happening with your trailer first.

    Hatch Spaghetti.....

Thanks Len...It is in the vein of "and Now for Somthing completely different". Plus I don't have any room in my garage to move around with the Yeti and Godzilla "hangered"

Work has been alittle wild lately, so trailer updates have been a little slim - did get some work done on my Rosenthal 1:3 ASW-28 though (ooh ---5m and 6m version).
I'll have to start a thread on that soon....

Anyway, back to the update, worked on the wire harness, - found a pre-made harness at the local electonincs store which simplified things. Just had to pick ( and write down) which wire went to where.

Attachment for the tail lights and license plate - just could'nt bring myself to using wood screws.

Hatch latch rod ends - the rods are flared at the T-handle mechanism, so a oval hole was required. I wanted to minimize slop in the hatch rods, so I made up some guides

Four coats of Spar varnish on the celing, so I guess I have to install a "no smoking" sign, otherwise it will ignite just form the varinsh drying.

Next up is "ice chest" conversion on the Hatch

AFLLS (apple) testing online.... well, trailer work is "related" to flying.......

Getting closer, and thanks for teasing us with a '28 build thread. Who doesn't love a 28?

Actually, knowing Scott I think 88 mph would have been the correct answer
