Petr, CONGRATULATIONS on joining our club!!! It goes a long way when we all show up and fly. The field is in fantastic shape, the grass has never looked better and the corn is about 8" high. Way cool.

    See you next weekend.

Thanks Len. Looking forward to next weekend. Can't do Friday /work/ but will be there all day Saturday and hopefully Sunday as well. That 8" corn is a great news.....tired of looking for my plane in 8' corn Hopefully the 1-7 will be done. If not I'll bring the little Discus. Need to get some stick time before flying the new plane anyway.

Sorry for the late report, I was sooo tired last night after a full day in the warm bright sunshine. The field is so nice this time of year.
Funny thing happened yesterday as I pulled onto the road leading to the field parking lot. As I'm pulling in, I see a Champ fly overhead pulling an EZ glider!!!!!!
WAIT A MINUTE!! ....... I'm not there yet??????

As I full into the lot, I see Fred Myer and Tom Vernon doing an aerotow. This was Freds new aerotow setup. He took a little electric Champ, fashioned a tow release and threw together an EZ glider. He said he's tired of watching us have all the fun! He saw the guys from Cumberland doing this a couple years ago at the AEROTOW, and has been watching us aerotow here all the time and figured he better "get on board or get out of the way"

Congratulations FRED, and great job getting Tom Vernon to do the towing. Tom was one of the first guys to tow me at this field 4 years ago.

Yet another first was made at the field Saturday also, John Burrows made his first flight as a future tow pilot buy towing the Ez glider with his Seagull Decathlon. John installed a tow release he got from ZB ( Michael ) at My Little Soaring Fleet. Congrats to JOHN too.

As for us other guys, It was me, Rob, Don and ANOTHER new glider pilot Mark Popov-Dadiani. Mark showed up with his new Cularis he build from a multiplex "YOU DO EVERYTHING" kit.
The plane looked great. Mark did his first tow with it behind the H9-Pawnee. After a little trimming, the plane flew super and he put it right at his feet on landing. Congrats to you too Mark!

Don, well he continues to rip up the sky with his FOX, but he also dragged out his little Krick Minimoa which went through a little modification and re-balance. After a PERFECT tow, the Minimoa spec'd out. He had to have full spoiler to get it down withing reasonable eyesight.
    It flew great.
I didn't fly any sailplanes, my mission was to get some fuel though the Decathlon's new DA 150 , make a couple tweeks to the setup. I also brought out the H9 1/3 Pawnee fresh out of the modification shop. We wanted to try out the new canisters we installed and get some more fuel through it too. The motor sounds fantastic running on canisters!! Very quiet.
I'm still working on the prop setup for both planes. I'm going to try the Vess 27A which Peter Goldsmith recommends.

All in all it was a very good day with a lot of regular power guys there too. Our club has welcomed the addition of Aerotowing to the field and the guys could not be more supportive. Thanks to the R/c Propbusters for not only welcoming aerotowing, but for ENCOURAGING it.

Gentleman, and you too Tom, we will be towing in Salem on this beautifully forecasted Saturday. The Porter will be standing guard and ready for action. We have some members and friends from the North coming down to test out couple new planes and I expect my 8m Duo Discus to make its New England debut.

Sure to be a great time with plenty to see, so come on out and have some fun.
