    Hi Petr,
Thanks for coming to the event. The only concern I have with the spring action is they may suck UP in flight. There is a lot of suction on top of the wing when these planes are flying. With a servo attach point, at least you know they are locked down. What about a cable that slides through a ez connector but when its closed, the cable holds it locked. You can still use the springs to close them, but the cable will lock it down?

    Great job though.

It's not complicated, bigger is better.

    Len,

Thank you for making the event possible! As always you guys did spectacular job. Thanks for letting me fly the EZ, after several months of no flying it was great to just enjoy flying without fighting with the Discus. I'll fly the Discus next time I come down .. promise. I'll bring the 1-7 with me too, it should be ready soon.

The spring holds the spoiler down pretty good but a little bit assurance can't hurt. I'll try to figure out what you mean with the cable.

yeah, I know I did a crappy job of explaining the cable. If you attached a cable or thin wire to the spoiler where the top of the servo arm touches when in the open position, then ran it through an EZ connector attached to the servo arm, then ( here is the hard part) when the spoiler is closed, you put a wheel collar on the cable or wire up tight to the EZ connector ( now holding the spoiler shut). By using this method, it allows slop in the travel when extending the spoilers, but draws it tight when closing them.

Anyone else who can add to this concept or help explain or correct, please feel free to offer your ideas.

So I was going to test Len's idea...

I don't have much space there and it didn't look I'll be able to squeeze all of ot in /ez conector, cable, wheel collar etc/. I think it's a great idea but hard to do with so little room.

So I was forced to think...I know scary

Here is what I have. Pictures worth of thousand words.

Looks like this will do the trick.

    Also, remember the windscreen?

Flat piece of PETG /I think that's what this is/.

Always fight for me to keep it on a plane. Always wants to spring back.
So I taped it to a cup, filled with boiling water and let it cool off.

When I took the tape off

it should be easy to attach now.

Bit tired from Saturday's aerotow and Sunday's daddy-daughter activities but I did managed to get at least something done tonight. I installed the spring holding "horns" on the spoilers as well as on the the wings. I cut the springs to size and made the wire "staples" that will prevent the spoilers to pop up if the springs fail to do so. Need to get a tiny drill bit to drill the holes for the staples.

Sorry, no photos. Batteries dead in the camera. Tomorrow.

    Petr

PS:what would you guys think will be a good starting point for CG on a plane like this?
