I hear you Dave. I have two year old project on the bench waiting to be done. Sometimes one needs a break.

OK, guys I'm working on the wings. As mentioned before I decided to make some kind of brackets sort of like /not 100% scale/ the full scale to attach the wings to the fuse. So I got some aluminum angle and flat stock and went for it.

    Front and back brackets

Those will be attached to the fuse "center rib" kind of like this.

Then I made the "joiner" that will be attached to the front spar.

    They will go like this.

I'll make second short spar at the TE that replaces the existing dowel pin to attach that end of the wing to the fuse.

I also dry fitted the drag spar.

Once I get everything lined up I'll start gluing the wing together.

Did anyone made Robart hinges like this before? I'd like to be able to remove the rudder, ailerons and elevator if necessary and still use the Robarts.

Yes, I would trim the cotter pin a little

    To be continued....

    Petr,

The screws for the wing brackets have to be on the same centerline for them to pivot at all. Looks like the forward bracket will have to move down and the tab coming from the main spar will either have to be lower or could be designed with an angled end. As for Robart hinge points without a pin, Robart used to make them, not sure if they still do. Looks like they still do:

BTW, has anybody else had problems with the auto-save feature of these forums and PM editors? On my work and home computer, it goes to auto-save every 20 seconds and then moves the cursor to control of the entire tab and if you are in the middle of using the back-space key it moves you to the previosuly opened page. Madening to say the least!!!!

I started to build the wings. Well, started to actually glue parts together.

Some vertical grain balsa in the spar

Sheer webs ready to be added

Forgot to drill the holes for the wing strut bracket so I had to use this little guy

I changed the location of the front bracket to get even with the rear to get better pivot

I also started to work on the airbreaks or are those spoilers? I never know.

    Servo installation

    Slowly moving along....

Hi Petr- looks like your moving at a pretty good clip to me! Won't be long before you are covering it.

I was expecting way faster build then this. I guess that's why one should always expect the unexpected
The second half of the wing should be faster as I know what I'm doing now and also I made all parts /brackets etc/ for it already.

Still long way from covering but getting there. Two weeks maybe.
