    Duane,
The Porter has a large interior. I have a 100 oz tank in mine, 3 batteries, ( 3- 4500 mah) There are two versions, The Scale series has doors on both sides and provide complete access to the entire interior. The non scale series has a door on one side and access to the rear section of the interior is somewhat limited, although it's still there.
The gear brackets were made by a member, I don't think he was making any more. I have some thicker windshields being made.

Len, from what I've read in the different threads it sounds like the sport version is the way to go. Do you think the windshield problem might be from engine torque twisting the fuse ?

    Hi Len

Where are you getting the thicker windshield made?
    Are they avaliable for sale?

Mine is slowly breaking up more and more and needs replacing with something stronger as well. I'm also thinking of put in a vertical bracing piece up the centre of the windshield opening to support and take some of the flex out of the windshield. Not very scale but more there for a purpose.

All the vibration and flexing of the windshield on my Pilatus is from the excessive prop wash from the big 3w110 and the 28x12 mejzlick. Anything over 1/3 - 1/2 throttle and it starts to get really humming. With great power comes great thrust and it has to go somewhere....

I've talked to another chap online in the UK and he's not had any issues with his Pilatus windscreen as he is only running it on a new DA 60cc engine "for Scale" flying. BTW he doesn't use his flaps either.

I'm in the middle of making up new exhaust pipes for my Pilatus and I went through KS or Krumscheid Exhaust for all the pipes, manifolds and silver solder rods etc. They were good to deal with and very reasonably priced, certainaly way cheaper than through any of our local suppliers.

I ordered the 50cc size Porter yesterday. Thought I'd try this size first and see how it goes with the aerotowing here first. If we ever get a group here I'll advance to the 260. For now I'm wondering what engine to put in this one, looking at the RCGF .40cc twin.

Let me know how much you need for a windshield and I may get one for future use.

    Hi Len

If your willing and able to send one down to Australia I would definitely be interested in a HD windshield or 2.
What sort of $$$ we talking?

LEN - I would like to ask for help yet again, in preparation for the Porter build I will start soon. I plan to use the DA 120 on the 3.2 meter Porter but don't have the engine in hand yet. For planning could you tell me what is the drop from the exhaust manifold flange to the K&S canister centerline on your Porter? I'm still trying to figure out exactly which manifolds and canisters to buy.

Naturally, any other advice you can pass on about this subject will be much appreciated. Thanks very much. Mike. (Carolina Fats).
