I found this video of a Pirat on tow. It shows the cockpit pretty well. I would like to point out that the blue handle on the left is the airbrake handle and beneath it is the elevator trim. In some way, less experienced pilots sometimes activated the airbrakes by accident and werent aware of it. Here, the pilot's left hand is placed on his knee, and that provides quick access to the handle...the pilot used the airbrakes on tow because he was getting closer to the towplane and had to stretch the towline.
