although it was windy today, landings were not as bad to manage as in the past. Well, my new autopilot mode helped me a lot keeping those wings level when the gust hit the wingtip

Made it home in one piece! We had a fantastic time and look forward to the fall.
We all need to give Jim Dolly and the guys from High Point a big hand for a wonderful weekend that was marred somewhat.....I'll let others explain. But all in all fun was had by all that attended and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in Lancaster in the end of April!

Thank you! 95 South can be a bear but 95 North was way worse.....we get on at Fredricksburg and head south....traffic going north was at a snails pace all the way to Richmond! I also need to get a dedicated trailer for my models..... Getting home and having to unload my models and then load all of our tools back into the trailer is not something you want do at 7:00 PM in a light rain.

    Dedicated Airplane Trailer

Hey Tom, I know where you can get a nice one!

That "LB" sticker would probably come off okay, but the sailplane is kind of nice.

With regards to the "marred weekend" Tom talks about, we lost the Decathlon today (Sunday) in an unfortunate "out of gas while waiting to land, and the woods got in the way" accident. The tow pilot at the time did everything possible to save the plane. Stuff Happens. Good lesson learned, dont circle over the trees when waiting to land. Circle over the field.
Hard way to learn, but at least we learned it.

I knew you where going to say that!
I 'm thinking of going 16' ultralight V-nose on the dedicated sailplane trailer.....the one I have now even with just airplanes in it is still a bit of a bear to pull and it keeps my mpg's around 10 no matter how hard I try to improve that figure!
