If I was a parrot I'd say the PWS is a 'pretty bird'! Since I'm human I can't express the beauty of it!

This is a beauty for sure! Good luck with it Steve!

Busy weekend. I finally got some time for the workshop to make-up the fuselage-side wiring harnesses, and... bugger! My storage case of connector parts was empty. So, fire off an order to Hansen Hobbies and mess with some detailing instead.
On the real work front, a few photos to share...

Batteries installed - 2 x 5000 mAh 6.0V packs. I switch everything over
to Anderson Power Poles. Tow release all sorted and working well

DSMX PowerSafe receiver ended up on the floor in the center of the cockpit.
Mount is wood, Velcro, foam, Velcro, receiver. Been a successful soft mount
approach. Pilot's seat goes right over top so everything is hidden
I chucked the tip aileron control horns and went with
trusty Graupner hardware. Wish I would have done that throughout.
Need to paint out all the cover mount screws.
One of two 8411 servos going in the horizontal stab
to activate the elevators

Next up a little playing around to make things fun.
My pilots tend to lose their way frequently, so I send them off with a nice supply of maps.
After installing the panel, I made up a couple side storage slots out of 1/64 ply and scraps
colored with the same stain I used on the panel...

I ordered a vintage pilot last fall from Axel, but the ETA on that is August
so a more modern 1:3 fellow got the ticket to ride for now

Still need to add a stick!

I got a couple hours in this afternoon. Just enough to finish all the wiring, bind it and let the magic happen. If by a flaming 378 we mean magic, yes we've got that! It's actually going back to JR -- it was not bound up. Just smelly and dead! After a quick switcheroo on the left aileron everything worked perfectly. I have it all set up and everything moving correctly.
Next session I'll add modes -- just launch, thermal and normal. Once I fly it I'll see what mix might be needed spoilers to elevator.
Part of getting the wiring done is all the anal stuff about getting them all pretty. They are pretty pretty. Next up finishing the seat and seeing if my Teutonic pilot fits in the final configuration.
Programming, balance (a freaking ton of lead in my future) and making up a set of wing bags is on tap for Memorial Day weekend. You can see the roll of wing bag material behind the shot of the tail. This puppy WILL make the JR trip!

Squeeeeeeze that puppy in the shop! The rudder now has the period accurate Polish crest.
Pair of 8411s on the elevators. Damn they sing! Is that cool on the 8411's??
I know the 378's are annoying. The 8411s droop the elevators when the power is off, and jump
to life when the switch is turned on. Strong like bull, but noisy as hell!

Rx all tucked in. Since the pilot hides most of the seat, I got creative.

The wood frame and seat pad do look pretty darn close once old Axel is in place

one word, awesome !!!!
It's not complicated, bigger is better.
How do you describe something like that? Amazing work, Steve.
I cant take my eyes off of this beauty . Clearly better than any lost girl .![]()
