RCaerotowing.com rules and policies
RCaerotowing.com (RCAT) is dedicated to providing a, informative, safe and friendly environment for the rc aerotow community. As with any such medium, there are rules and policies to maintain the standard of the forums and safeguard individuals within the forums.
To maintain the good nature and smooth running of the forums, we ask all users of the RCAT to abide by the following principals. Failure to do so will incur warnings and possible banning from the RCAT at the discretion of our moderators.
Forum topics:
Please keep your posts focused on the topic of the thread and related to the forum within which you are submitting your message.
We do not permit political, social, religious, or other off-topic discussions. There are many places online to express your opinions on issues outside of RC.
Inappropriate language or content:
The use of inappropriate, offensive language or language substitutions are not permitted on RCAT.
Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content be it video, image or files that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind.
We will not allow linking, mention or reference to any website or organization that contains any of the aforementioned objectionable content.
Harassment & flaming:
RCAT members are not permitted to harass or "flame" other members. Please do not post or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind, including, but not limited to, any material which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, violate the rights of others, or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national or international law. Please note that this also includes the posting of taunts on a forum solely for the purpose of demeaning that forum's topic, other organisations or individuals and/or forum members.
Copyrighted or trademarked material:
It is illegal to post any content that is copyrighted or trademarked, unless you hold the copyright or trademark or have the explicit permission of the owner. This includes reproducing the full text of news stories, articles, etc. It is acceptable to provide a link to copyrighted material, to post brief excerpts, or to paraphrase other works, though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source whenever possible.
Piracy or unlawful activities:
The RCAT not a place to violate any laws or to discuss illegal activities. This type of activity includes, but is not limited to, advocating or asking for information regarding software piracy or unauthorized emulators of software or hardware, sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, "cracks," or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer hardware, software, networks, or any other systems. This activity will not be tolerated.
Advertising:
The use of forums to advertise a product by companies, individuals with commercial interests or their counterparts is prohibited. The following form of advertising will not be tolerated:
Companies, individuals with commercial interests or their counterparts may answer questions relating to product information about their products & support or adding pertinent product information such as specs, photos or videos.
Usernames, avatars and personal information:
Only one username or account allowed at RCAT, all others will be removed. If you create a second username to act as a shill or in attempt to bypass a management ban, you will be at risk of permanent removal from RCAT. A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services and/or the act of hiding behind anonymity to abuse normal membership policies and etiquette. The term plant is also used.
If you are a manufacturer, vendor, sponsored representative, retailer or the like for an r/c related company or product you must specifically identify yourself and the particular affiliation in your signature.
Avatars may not be visually offensive or breach any of the offensive rules outlined above. They may contain brands, but not advertising.
Web addresses may not be used as usernames.
Spamming:
Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly in one or multiple forums, is prohibited. Spamming will also be defined as posting advertisements in the general discussion forums for products for sale in the swap shop.
Warning & banning:
RCAT reserves the right at its sole discretion to warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to any part of these forums. If you violate any of the rules stated in this document or any other service terms documents, a moderator will warn you and ask you to remove or themselves remove the offending message. It is your responsibility to maintain a current, valid email address in the registration information so that RCAT management can contact you in the event of a policy violation. Any member who consistently and purposefully violates our policies will at the administrator's discretion, be denied access to these forums for a period of 1 to 30 days depending on the nature of the violation. Any member who refuses to comply with the policies of these forums will be banned permanently.
